Why is Jamaican Rum Punch so good?!

Happy Sunday!

This week’s recipe is an oldie but goodie! Rum Punch is a yummy beverage that I’m sure you’ve tried. If you’ve ever vacationed in the Caribbean, its probably the first thing you drink when you arrive at your hotel or at a restaurant. It’s no secret that rum is quite popular in the Caribbean, which make sense since sugar cane is a abundant.

This rum punch recipe features light and dark rum, coconut liqueur, and a mix of tropical fruit juices. Rum punch is perfect for any occasion, including a backyard barbecue, lounging by the pool, or a get together with friends.

Keys to a delicious rum punch

Unsurprisingly, the keys to a great rum punch are rum, rum, and (gasp!) more rum.

I use three different kinds of rum for this punch. I know, it’s a lot, but this is JAMAICAN rum punch. And in case you didn’t get the memo, Jamaicans love rum. There’s a reason for the different kinds of rum too, if we only used one, the rum would be lacking in flavor. So just trust me and use a mix of dark, white, and coconut rum. Plus, the rum helps cut the sweetness from the grenadine and juices. Top everything off with fresh limes, and you understand why this punch is oh so popular.

Trust me, you won’t even taste the rum! Which is either a really good thing, or a really bad thing! You be the judge 😀

Can I make this drink  non-alcoholic?

Of course! My favorite trick is to use ginger ale and coconut water as substitutes for the white and dark rum. The ginger ale adds a little sizzle, while the coconut water keeps the flavor from the coconut liqueur. Let me know what other combos you come up with in the comments below!

Substitutes

There are so many variations of rum punch! You can try adding any of the following:
