A quick and delicious 4-ingredient dessert! These Mango Mascarpone Tarts may be simple, but they are packing lots of flavor.
Hey everyone! By now you all know desserts are not really my thing. I’m not here for all the measuring and precision that’s usually involved in baking desserts. But I have a huge sweet tooth!
Enter my favorite dessert ingredient: frozen puff pastry dough. I honestly love this stuff. I’ve used it to make Callaloo Puff Pastries and Spiced Pineapple Galette. And now, these simple Mango and Mascarpone Tarts!
Why these are the easiest tarts you’ll ever make…
These tarts have just 4 required ingredients:
puff pastry dough
mascarpone cheese
fresh mangoes, and
honey
That’s it! The rest of the ingredients are just salt, pepper, fresh thyme, and 1 egg (for an egg wash).
The recipe…
The instructions for making these tarts are as simple as the ingredients. But the end result is sooo good.
Step 1: Slice the mangoes. I recommend using mangoes that are semi-ripe and still a little firm to the touch because they hold up better in the oven. Any mango variety will work for this recipe.
Step 2: Thaw the puff pastry dough and top with cheese and sliced mangoes. I like mascarpone cheese, but any soft cheese will work here. Think brie, cream cheese, or creme fraiche.
Step 3: Seal the tarts, brush with egg white, top with flaky salt, and bake! Pretty self-explanatory.
Step 4: Once the tarts are out of the oven, drizzle with honey. Now you can just use plain honey. Or if you want to add even more delicious flavor, mix honey with a little fresh thyme and some fresh black pepper. Then drizzle and enjoy!
That honey drizzle makes all the difference.
I honestly don’t think you can add too much honey… It’s not possible.
These tarts are perfect by themselves (because it’s never wrong to eat dessert as a main course!), but I especially love pairing them with a light healthy dinner, like this Citrus Avocado Salad with Zesty Honey Dijon Vinaigrette.
Maybe it’s a Jedi mind trick, but eating a healthy salad beforehand totally makes your dessert healthy too, right?! At least with this dessert, there’s no need to feel guilty because it’s made from real, simple ingredients.

Mango Mascarpone Tarts
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz mascarpone (or other creamy cheese)
- 2 semi-ripe mangoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- flaky salt
- 1 beaten egg white
- 1/4 cup honey
- fresh thyme optional
- pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 squares. Spread a spoonful of mascarpone cheese onto each puff pastry square, leaving a slight border around the edges. Layer sliced mangoes on top of the cheese. Arrange the slices horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to create an interesting pattern! Fold the edges of the pastry inward, then press the edges with a fork to seal. Top with flaky sea salt and brush with egg white.
- Bake pastries for 18-20 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
- Drizzle with honey, or for a flavorful twist, mix honey with fresh thyme and pepper, then drizzle over warm tarts. Serve immediately.

Easy and delicious! We did not drizzle honey on top, which was fine because our mango was sweet enough. Will definitely make again
